A new achievement for Kuwait Oil Tanker Company was winning the award for best tankers operator in the maritime industry on the regional level, the Middle East and the Indian sub-continent, and the granting of its chief executive Sheikh Talal Al-Khaled Al-Sabah the title of Person of the Year by World Maritime Standards Organization.

According to the merits of the award it has been obtained by the company for its success in running its fleet with high efficiency and provide carriers with the latest technical and operational techniques and equipment in addition to the provision of highly efficient and trained national staff to carry out the operations of the fleet around the world successfully.

Sheikh Talal Al-Khalid, chief executive, obtained the title of Person of the Year in recognition of his achievements in the field of maritime industry, and his success in raising the status of the company regionally and globally in addition to his motivational efforts as a leading and his contribution to enhancing the company's capabilities by providing its fleet with the latest standards of global marine technology.

The merits of Sheikh Talal Al-Khalid's title, according to the World Maritime Standards Organization, confirmed that those stimulus efforts raised the company's performance level, including them in the ranks of major companies in the field of maritime transport based on high expertise stemming from assuming several leadership positions in the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation and its subsidiaries.

Sheikh Talal Al-Khalid was honored in the celebration which was held by World Maritime Standards Organization in Dubai, in the presence of chief executives, chairmen and members of boards of directors of shipping companies in the Middle East and the Indian sub-continent. The senior management of the organization granted the company the best carriers' operator in the maritime industry award on the regional level in the Middle East and the Indian sub-continent. Sheikh Talal Al-Khaled Al-Sabah was also awarded with the title of Person of the Year in the field of maritime transport industry.

The prize and title came as culmination of the efforts of the Kuwait Oil Tanker Company and its employees, and this achievement is added to the successes achieved in the field of maritime transport, which in turn is a significant milestone for Kuwait Petroleum Corporation and its subsidiaries.

It is worth mentioning that this award is supported and certified by the Federal Transit Authority "FTA" where Maritime Standards Organization aims to highlight the achievements of the companies and people in the regional shipping industry. There are global maritime organizations support this award on the regional level, and they are Baltic Council and the International Maritime and Shipping Federation of the UAE, the Council of Dubai International Marine Industries, and the Federation of Dubai Shipping Agents, in addition to the Organization of the Islamic Union of Ship owners.

On his part, Sheikh Talal Al-Khalid expressed his delight at the company obtaining this global grand prize, stressing his commitment and determination on going forward in raising the level of the company to provide global services on record levels, in order to keep it in competition with major international companies in the shipping industry.
