KOTC celebrated the inauguration of crude oil supertanker "Al-Fintas" and taking delivery of the petroleum product tanker "Burgan". This comes within Phase III for fleet revamping that includes building 9 tankers, of which 4 are crude oil supertankers "VLCC", 4 medium-range petroleum tankers "MR" and 1 long-range petroleum products and crude oil tanker "AFRAMAX LR-2"​

KOTC CEO Sheikh Talal Al-Khaled Al-Ahmed Al-Sabah inaugurated the ​crude oil supertanker "Al-Fintas" at an official ceremony at the headquarters of Daewoo Shipbuilding and Maritime Engineering Company "D.S.M.E". Sheikh Talal also named the petroleum product tanker "Burgan", the first fruit of Phase III for fleet revamping. It was taken delivery of from Hyundai Mipo for dry docks "H.M.D" at a grand ceremony held in S. Korea

In his speech on this occasion, Sheikh Talal announced that taking delivery of the petroleum products Tanker "Burgan" and the inauguration of the crude oil supertanker "Al-Fintas" at the 2 manufacturing S. Korean companies went successfully and He went on to say that after the end of Phase I and Phase II for fleet revamping and successfully moving through Phase III, KOTC would have effectively promoted the objectives it has been seeking.​
